How it works

Skippa works in the way you may expect, except the waste doesn’t go straight to landfill.

FAQS

What is Skippa?

We work just like some of the other flexible disposal bags you may have seen: buy a bag, load it up then call someone to pick it up. The difference is, we recycle your waste instead of sending it straight to landfill.

What can I put in a Skippa?

Skippa is great for most of the things you’d like to dispose of at home. There are a few things that we can’t take – details are on our buy page. If in doubt, please get in touch.

Do you really skip the landfill?

Our whole reason for being is to reduce the waste that just gets buried. Most of the things that are disposed of can be re-used in some way and Skippa is a sister company to Central Environmental, which specialises in sorting and repurposing waste.

How much does it cost?

The bags are a standard price and there is a flat rate cost for delivery. The cost of collection varies depending on the bag size and your location. You can estimate the collection cost here.

Where can I put my Skippa?

We collect your Skippa by truck, so there are a few rules about where you place the Skippa bags or skip bins:

  • We need vehicle access at least 3m wide
  • Your Skippa must be less than 4m from the kerb side
  • Skippa bags and skips must be placed more than 4m from powerlines or trees
